Is it Worth Buying a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Phone?

No doubt that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 comes with a lot of great improvements, but the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is a newer processor and it still has great features that make it worth owning. This article lists down three phone features with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 that could be a good budget phone choice.

Xiaomi 12T Pro

Xiaomi is one of the most popular and famous mobile phone manufacturers from China, and they have already announced their next phone with the Snapdragon Gen 2 processor. However, we would like to focus on the Xiaomi 12T Pro. In October 2022, Xiaomi 12T Pro was released with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and a lot of improvements.

The Xiaomi 12T Pro has already gained a lot of popularity around the world due to its long battery life, 200 Megapixel camera, and Snapdragon Gen 2 processor. Xiaomi 12 T Pro comes in two variants and starts at $599.

Motorola X30 Pro

Motorola is one of the world’s leading smartphone manufacturers. There are many reasons why Motorola phones are popular, including their affordability and their innovative design. As well, Motorola has already announced that it will launch a smartphone with the Snapdragon Gen 2 processor. However, the Motorola X30 Pro, which has a Snapdragon Gen 1 processor, is still worth buying.

The mid-range Moro X30 Pro has an excellent configuration, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor + LPDDR 5 + UFS 3.1 performance iron triangle combination, the overall control is silky and smooth, the 144Hz high refresh screen, 200 megapixels camera + 8K video shooting performance can also meet daily use, 125W priority fast charge + 50W wireless fast charge, a 4610mAh battery is more than enough. OnePlus Ace Pro has been well-received since its release, especially by young game lovers. A 16G large memory, 120Hz screen refresh rate, and built-in HyperBoost game frame stabilization engine double your gaming experience.

You can take pictures and record videos with the 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 flagship camera with optical image stabilization.

Nowadays mobile phone technology is improving so quickly because of too much competition. And the performance of mobile phone processors is changing with each passing day. But the truth is most mobile phone users do not need such extreme performance for daily use.

I do not recommend you charge the new phone only for the powerful processor. Furthermore, the first phone with the Snapdragon Gen 2 is sure to be expensive. Another truth is that this is a new product, so it will go through a lot of testing.

Last but not least, if you want high performance, you can wait for new smartphones. It is expected that some new smartphones will be released next month with Snapdragon Gen 2. However, A little old or newer models will definitely work excellent for most people. Smartphones are primarily powered by their processors, but it is not the only part of the device. So there are a lot of things to learn when selecting a smartphone.
